We’re excited to welcome Megan to Whyte Ave Sport and Spine!
Starting in November, Megan will be joining our physiotherapy team. She treats a wide range of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, with special interests in pelvic floor physiotherapy and hand therapy.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on the muscles that support your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. It can help with issues such as incontinence and core weakness. For those who are pre- or post-natal, pelvic floor physio can play a key role in preparing the body for childbirth, supporting recovery afterward, and helping restore strength, stability, and confidence in movement.
We’re thrilled to have Megan join our team and bring her expertise to our patients!

Physiotherapy
Your initial assessment with our Physio's will begin with a detailed history about what is bringing you in. This will be followed by a systematic examination of the body part(s) that may be contributing to your pain or injury. Together we will review key details from the examination and come up with a treatment plan that matches your expectations and goals. Treatment may include manual therapy techniques to address soft tissue or joint restrictions, therapeutic exercise to aid in the rehabilitation process and prevent re-injury, dry needling / IMS, or other modalities to aid in symptom management. Together we will work to rehabilitate your injury.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on assessing and treating the muscles, joints, and connective tissues of the pelvic region. These muscles are vital for bladder, bowel, and sexual function, and play an important role in supporting the spine and pelvis.
Our physiotherapist uses a combination of education, exercise, manual therapy, and lifestyle strategies to help improve strength, coordination, and relaxation of the pelvic floor.
To perform the most detailed assessment an internal exam is recommended but a modified internal exam can be performed as well.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help with:
- Pregnancy related pelvic symptoms
- Birth prep and postpartum rehab
- Bladder leakage, urgency, or frequency
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Constipation or bowel issues
- Core weakness and diastasis recti abdominus management
Pre- and Post-Partum Benefits:
During pregnancy, pelvic floor physiotherapy can help manage back and pelvic pain, improve core stability, and prepare the body for delivery by promoting optimal pelvic floor relaxation and control.
After birth, treatment supports recovery by helping restore strength, coordination, and tissue healing—reducing symptoms like leakage, heaviness, or pain, and easing the return to exercise, intimacy, and daily activities.
Improving pelvic floor health can enhance comfort, confidence, and overall quality of life.
Chiropractic
Dr. Yee’s Chiropractic treatment philosophy involves a tailored approach for each individual patient. Every first patient visit begins with a detailed consultation regarding the presenting problem. This is followed by a comprehensive examination and movement analysis. Treatment modalities may involve “hands-on” manual therapy to address joints, muscles, ligaments, fascia, and nerve dysfunction to “hands-off” therapy where corrective exercise is prescribed to improve movement and biomechanical issues. Dr. Yee strongly believes in the importance of empowering people to assist them to take care of themselves.
Massage Therapy
Dani is motivated to keep you moving and comfortable. She listens to the present complaint and works on a tailored treatment plan using one or a combination of modalities to keep you doing what you love. Often she will check in with the clinic chiropractor and physio therapist to ensure we are all working towards the same goal.
She graduated with honours from MaKami College 3000 hr. Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy program in 2018. Specializing in deep tissue, TMJD/ interoral massage, cupping, myofascial release, motor vehicle accidents, and relaxation.
When she’s not helping you feel better she can often be found walking or skiing with her dogs, reading, or trying out some new recipes on friends and family.
She looks forward to meeting you, and helping you reach your pain free goals!
Clinical Pilates + Manual Therapy
My name is Sheila, I am a comprehensively trained Master Pilates Practitioner and Registered Massage Therapist. I have spent the better part of 30 years working with people like you. My career has taken me to every corner of the world and I have come full circle back to my home town, Edmonton. I have a passion for helping people heal, move better and get stronger.
I promote an integrated holistic approach, a balance between manual hands-on therapies and the Pilates Method. The clinic is fully equiped with specialised Pilates and fitness equipment such as: Clinical Reformer, Exo Chair, Ladder Barrels, Spine Corrector and Tower.
Your initial assessment will include taking a full health history, relevant assessment, posture and movement analysis. Based on this information I will help you set goals that are achievable and measurable by designing a tailored Pilates program specifically for you.
If you have been referred or are receiving treatment by other health care professionals (Doctor, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, Osteopath, Massage Therapist) with your permission, I can consult with them to ensure your customised Pilates program complements your treatments, working synergistically to achieve your goals safely and effectively.
Your personalized Pilates program will extend far beyond our sessions, becoming a part of your daily life. Whether you're rehabilitating from an injury, training for sports performance, or simply aiming to enjoy activities like gardening, pickleball, golf, tennis, pottery, or playing with your grandkids, Pilates will support you in doing what you love.
At Whyte Ave. Sport and Spine, I offer Private and Semi-Private Pilates sessions.
You are welcome to book into a complementary, no obligation "Meet and Greet” session, where all your questions can be asked and answered.
Yours in Health, Sheila
